It was another full day in Japan! Today Igor and Julie made a second guest appearance as we all made our way to the knife district of Tokyo:

We split after a stroll through a temple in Asakusa because the four of us had reservations at a tempura spot called
Miakwa Zezankyo for lunch. The meal was unbelievable! The chef did not allow photos of the food prep, but we were able to snap a few of the prepared items:

After the meal, the chef allowed us to go upstairs and see his personal collection of historical artifacts (many textiles, some body armor and a lovely meditation area). It was was a very personal and intimate thing to share with us; we were in awe. We didn't take any photos, as it might have been seen as rude.
Tired from a full morning, we snuck in a nap at the hotel before going back out for dinner at a yakitori place called Fuku. It was a little difficult to find, as the addresses around here aren't in a particular order and many places either have no sign out front, or the sign is in Japanese, so you get a little hungrier for your meal while you're searching ;). This place was a little local haunt, but well known for it's top-rated skewers:

Tomorrow we're meeting up with Julie and Igor again for the Tsukiji fish market, but we have to get up super early, so it's off to bed for us...after a few minutes of Japanese game shows on tv. They're so ridiculous!
